As Andretti Green Racing, the team won IndyCar Series championships in 2004 (Tony Kanaan), 2005 (Dan Wheldon) and 2007 (Dario Franchitti) and the first Indianapolis 500 victory for Andretti as a driver or owner when Wheldon won the May classic in 2005. Franchitti also won in 2007.
Andretti competed for 19 years in the CART championship before moving to the IndyCar Series in 2003. He retired from full-time driving following the 2003 Indianapolis 500 to concentrate on team ownership.
